Liberty Fitness Virtual Brochure Revolutionizes Franchisee Recruitment

New Web-Based Tool Streamlines Education, Reduces Need for ‘Discovery Days’

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA (Wednesday, October 20, 2004) - Liberty Fitness, a progressive and rapidly growing woman’s fitness chain focusing on “total body” wellness, is revolutionizing the franchise industry with the introduction of an exclusive “Virtual Brochure”that streamlines the franchisee recruitment and validation process.

The online educational program, created by leading technology experts within the Liberty Fitness management team, has replaced the traditional ‘Discovery Days’ method of teaching prospective franchisees about the Liberty Fitness opportunity. With the new web-based process of walking prospective franchise candidates through various aspects of the franchise opportunity, under the direction of a franchise sales executive, the result has improved cost-efficiency for both Liberty and its future franchisee partners.

“The Liberty Fitness Virtual Brochure is the first of its kind in the franchise industry,” said Mark Franklin, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Liberty Fitness Holdings, LLC. “Our proprietary and innovative paperless system allows franchise prospects to learn about the Liberty Fitness opportunity at their convenience, while still adhering to our standard month-long recruitment process. In most cases it supplements the need for costly corporate brochures and mailings, plus reducing unnecessary travel costs and other burdens associated with holding ‘Discovery Days’.”

The Liberty Fitness Virtual Brochure is accessible online using a standard broadband Internet connection and passwords provided by Liberty Fitness corporate headquarters. After logging on, prospective franchisees are taken through a 35-day introduction to the Liberty Fitness opportunity. It begins with an overview of the woman’s 30-minute workout industry and concludes with the franchisee signing a franchise agreement. The online “live” brochure covers every element of the Liberty Fitness franchise opportunity, from assembling and maintaining Liberty Fitness’ proprietary adjustable equipment to negotiating a lease and marketing a grand opening event. In fact, prospective franchisees can also access a Liberty Fitness corporate representative by e-mail or phone throughout the education process.

The Virtual Brochure kicks off with a video that examines the proliferation of the women’s fitness industry and America ’s obesity crisis. Prospective franchisees can then log on each day for the next week to learn about what it takes to become a Liberty Fitness franchisee, including capital requirements and business experience. They also share a virtual “Day in the Life” of a Liberty Fitness franchisee. After a prospect completes the first week, they complete an online qualification form and receive the passwords necessary to continue learning about the Liberty Fitness franchise opportunity.

Once a prospective franchise qualifies for the Liberty Fitness franchise opportunity, the next three weeks are spent taking a virtual tour of corporate headquarters including a Liberty Fitness health club, meeting the Liberty Fitness corporate staff and hearing the success stories of existing franchisees via audio MP3 files. When a prospective franchisee is ready to access the Liberty Fitness Universal Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC), it can either be accessed online or sent, at no cost, to a local Kinko’s and picked up at the prospect’s leisure.

“Our virtual brochure redefines the franchisee recruitment process,” Franklin said. “We provide prospective franchisees with all of the information necessary to make an educated decision about their potential investment in Liberty Fitness without ever leaving their home. This is the future of franchise licensing and we are the ‘trail blazers’.”
