Learning Express Toys Nominated For Toy Retailer Of The Year
DEVENS, MA (Sunday, January 01, 2006) -
Learning Express Toys has been nominated by the Toy Industry Association as a finalist for the 2005 Toy Retailer of the Year award. Other nominees include Toys R Us, KB Toys, Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Kohl's and K-mart.
Learning Express, a specialty toy retailer, has a very different business model than the other nominees. "All Learning Express stores are individually owned and operated and are very involved in their communities", says Joe Diaz, President of Learning Express, Inc."Fundraisers for local schools and civic organizations are a big part of the "giving back" philosophy every storeowner agrees to when they join our system. And, unlike large retail corporations, profits stay in the community."
"The T.O.T.Y. awards are quite prestigious and it is an honor to be nominated" says Sharon DiMinico, Learning Express Founder and CEO. "Since I launched Learning Express in 1987 there have been many changes in the toy industry, and I am thrilled that the industry recognizes our ongoing accomplishments."
Award winners will be announced at the fifth annual T.O.T.Y. Awards dinner to be held February 19, 2005 in New York City.
