Kolache Factory Named One Of Houston’s Top 100 Small Businesses

HOUSTON (Thursday, July 07, 2005) - Kolache Factory, a Houston, Texas-based bakery-café that is franchising around the country, was recently named one of “Houston’s Top 100 Small Businesses” by the Houston Business Journal, Reliant Energy and several other sponsors. The event was held at the Westin Gallery Hotel on May 20th, 2005. Awards were ranked by gross revenue. Accepting the award was John Banks owner of Kolache Factory.


In addition to serving kolaches, a popular product best described as a slightly sweet, pastry roll filled with a variety of ingredients ranging from to fruit to cheese and meat, Kolache Factory offers its customers gourmet coffees and a variety of traditional pastries. These pastries include, but are not limited to, cinnamon rolls, croissants and strudel niks.

There are currently 13 company-owned and five franchise stores in Houston, TX, two franchise stores in Indianapolis, IN, and one franchise store in Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; Atlanta, GA; Minneapolis, MN; Cincinnati, OH; and McAllen, TX. Other franchise stores will soon be opening in the following cities: Overland Park, KS; Clear Lake, TX; and Austin, TX. Negotiations are underway for multiple locations in other U.S. cities, and company plans call for opening more franchise stores across the country.
