Latest “Edutainment” Kids Program Features Ship Theme

ALISO VIEJO, CALIF (Thursday, September 08, 2005) - Johnny Rockets, the all-American diner, and Royal Caribbean International announced today a new “edutainment-themed” in-store promotion surrounding the Johnny Rockets Rocket Kids® Program. The program, aligned for kids 10 and under, offers fun learning activities and play during meal time with the whole family. Starting in September, just in time for the back-to-school fall season, the latest version of Johnny Rockets kids program will feature an entertaining and educational kids activity book, which incorporates a nautical theme and will be available at participating locations in the U.S. and Canada. The program includes a colorful Freedom of the Seas ship theme and a fill-in-your-own “S.S. moniker” on a paper-based toy for kids to discover on their journey through the high seas. In addition, the special limited edition Johnny Rockets kids activity book will create a fun experience while offering a learning opportunity that children can take home with them. Kids can find out about compass points and sailing terms such as “galley,” “port” and “stern.”

The maritime-inspired program marks the latest addition to Johnny Rockets’ family-friendly features, which include a kids’ menu, servers that sing and dance and nickel jukeboxes at every table. Johnny Rockets’ kids’ menu items include Original JR hamburgers - smaller versions of the Johnny Rockets Original hamburger - hot dogs, chicken tenders, and grilled cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

In addition, Johnny Rockets continues its “Rocket Kids Rocket Reader®” initiative throughout the year. The study program helps motivate students to read by providing a free Johnny Rockets Kids Sundae or Kids Meal every time they meet their monthly reading goal throughout the school year.

In January, Johnny Rockets opened its newest “at sea” restaurant on the completely renovated Royal Caribbean International cruise ship, Sovereign of the Seas - which marks its sixth cruise ship presence to date.
