Jersey Mike's Subs In Ashland Welcome 120 Members Of The Army's 202nd Military Police Company Home

ASHLAND (Wednesday, December 28, 2005) - Jersey Mike's Subs in Ashland recently helped deploy stacks of subs to welcome 120 members of the Army's 202nd Military Police Company home after a one-year mission in Afghanistan.

Bill and Joyce Wilson, owners of the sandwich shop, assembled the sandwiches in their shop on England Street on Thursday.

Monica Cronin, marketing coordinator of Jersey Mike's franchise system, then drove from New Jersey to Ashland, where she loaded the 120 sandwiches, chips and canned drinks. She took them to Fort Eustis, where box lunches were prepared.

The next morning, members of the 202nd arrived at Langley Air Force Base near Hampton, where they each received sandwiches made with three types of ham, provolone cheese and dressings. Cronin's daughter and son-in-law are both sergeants in the 202nd, based at Fort Eustis.

At the 202nd's homecoming on Friday at Fort Eustis, soldiers expressed their gratitude for the food.
