Jani-king International, Inc. Honored For workplace Awareness Program In Second Annual International Business Awards
DALLAS, TEXAS (Tuesday, May 10, 2005) -
Jani-King International, Inc. has earned a Certificate of Finalist Recognition in Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program in the 2005 International Business Awards for its Workplace Awareness Program. The program was developed in response to the 9/11 attacks as a way to aid in the safety of Jani-King franchises, employees, clients, and their customers. The International Business Awards are the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word crowned, the awards will be presented to winners at a gala dinner on Thursday, May 19 in the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. The ceremonies will be videocast live worldwide by Speedera Networks, and will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S.A by the Business Talk Radio Network.
Recipients of 76 International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 600 nominations received from companies and individuals in more than 30 countries. Twenty-one nations have at least one International Stevie winner each, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the U.S.A.
Companies from all over the world are eligible to compete in The International Business Awards, and can enter in any of more than 40 categories from Best Multinational Company and Best New Product to Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and Best Executive.
At Jani-King, we recognized that our industry in uniquely positioned to possibly deter future acts of terrorism and we are proud to put into action additional measures to heighten the level of awareness in our clients facilities, says Jerry Crawford, president of Jani-King International. We continue to strive to be leaders and congratulate the other industry leaders that have received Stevie Awards honors.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the Finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.
This year we saw a greater international representation among the entries, and this is reflected in the number of countries that are represented in the winners circle, says Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards, the organization that runs The International Business Awards. We congratulate all of the Finalists and International Stevie Awards winners, and we look forward to honoring them for their achievements at our gala awards dinner in New York on May 19.
We are humbled by the honor of receiving this award, says Crawford. We are glad to see that other executives see the benefit of the Workplace Awareness Program and hope they will follow with similar initiatives in their industries.
