Huddle House Inc. Announces Opening Of New Distribution Center

Company Doubles Warehouse Capacity and Installs State-of-the-Art Equipment

DECATUR, GA. (Wednesday, April 20, 2005) - Huddle House Inc., a 24-hour full service family dining restaurant chain announced today the opening of its new distribution center, which more than doubles its warehouse capacity from 30,000 square feet to 70,000 square feet, and showcases the most advanced technology systems in the industry.

According to Ralph Brander, vice president of distribution for Huddle House Inc., the increase in warehouse space will allow Huddle House to process its inventory with greater consistency and accuracy. The new facility, coupled with the Huddle House fleet of 20 18-wheeler tractor trailers will supply more than 45,000,000 pounds of food per year to 175 franchisees throughout its distribution chain.

As one of the only foodservice operators to have its own distribution center, Southside Customer Support Center will include state-of-the art equipment such as GPS, a satellite-based tracking system that monitors the location of the entire Huddle House truck fleet, 24 hours a day. By late summer, the company also plans to install Warehouse Management System (WMS), a RFID technology that allows real time tracking of all Huddle House inventory.

Huddle House’s distribution center will employ 40 positions including its warehouse staff and administrative personnel.
