Huddle House Inks Deal For 25 Restaurant Development In West Virginia
DECATUR, GEORGIA (Sunday, July 23, 2000) -
Huddle House, Inc. and Mountaineer Restaurants, have agreed to a six-year, twenty-five store deal to build Huddle House restaurants in the state of West Virginia. Huddle House has been on an impressive expansion plan over the past year. During the past year alone, Huddle House has signed market development agreements to build 145 new image Huddle House restaurants.
Mountaineer Restaurants currently operate over forty Papa John's restaurants and wanted to add Huddle House to its company portfolio. Philip M. Greifeld, CEO of Huddle House, Inc. called the agreement, "a terrific match of companies with strong customer service values." Greifeld added, "Their success with Papa John's has been remarkable and we look forward to bringing the Huddle House brand to West Virginia." Mike Sloane, CEO of Mountaineer Restaurants, praised the "new strategic direction" of the Huddle House chain, "strong economics and growth opportunities."
Huddle House recently reported fiscal year April 2000 comparable store sales growth of 4.5% and system sales topping $150,000,000.
