Embassy Suites Hotel Washington, D.c. Opens Just Steps Away From New Convention Center

WASHINGTON, D.C (Monday, November 14, 2005) - International Painters and Allied Trades Industry Pension Fund, of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), and Hilton Hotels Corporation announced the opening today of the new 384-suite Embassy Suites Hotel® Washington, D.C./Convention Center in downtown D.C. The 384-suite hotel is owned by IUPAT.

"We are delighted that the IUPAT elected to fly the Embassy Suites Hotels flag on this beautiful and welcoming upscale hotel at the convention center and we are excited to provide the superior accommodations and service for which Embassy Suites is known," said David Greydanus, senior vice president - brand management for Embassy Suites Hotels. "The spaciousness of our two-room suites and lobby area will provide a welcome respite to convention attendees, individual business travelers and leisure guests alike."

In addition to two-room suites, the hotel also offers high-speed Internet access; two dual-line phones with Dataport modems; a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and in-room safes large enough to hold laptop computers; and an iron and ironing board. Additional amenities at the hotel include an indoor pool, whirlpool, executive business center and fitness center.

The hotel offers a complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and a two-hour Manager's Reception* each evening featuring complimentary beverages and light snacks. The hotel features 6,500 square feet of meeting space and a new restaurant, called Finn & Porter, just steps away from the new Washington Convention Center.

Hundreds of jobs were created during the two-year construction phase of the Embassy Suites Hotel project, and nearly 230 permanent new jobs have been created with the hotel opening.

"The hard working men and women of the IUPAT are proud to contribute this investment in Washington, D.C.'s success, and we're extremely pleased we have created much-needed jobs in this region," declared James A. Williams, general president of the IUPAT.
