BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF (Tuesday, June 28, 2005) - This Fourth of July, a day full of all-American traditions, Doubletree Hotels is breaking from its tradition with "Two for Red, White & Blue" - offering two complimentary freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies to anyone who wears red, white and blue or carries an American flag into any of its more than 160 U.S. properties on Monday, July 4.

"'Two for Red, White & Blue' is a fun way to celebrate patriotism and satisfy chocolate cravings nationwide, without even needing to be a guest," said Dave Horton, senior vice president - brand management. "We're expecting to give out 200,000 cookies this Independence Day - that's more cookies than any bakery or cookie company will sell that day!"

The Doubletree tradition of greeting guests at check-in with its legendary warm chocolate chip cookie has set the standard since the 1980s. Doubletree gives out approximately 29,000 chocolate chip cookies each day; that's more than 10,500,000 each year! Each cookie weighs a hearty 2 ½ ounces and boasts an average of 20 chocolate chips.

The Doubletree "Two for Red, White & Blue" campaign recognizes Americans who demonstrate their own patriotic spirits simply by displaying our nation's colors on Monday, July 4, 2005. Each person (or child) will be presented with two Doubletree signature cookies while supplies last.
