Hcx Sells Development Rights For Michigan, Signs Lease To Open First Salon In Royal Oak

LIVONIA, MICHIGAN (Wednesday, September 10, 2003) - HCX Salons International (HCX), the first national franchisor of salons specializing in affordable hair color, cutting and styling services, today announced it has sold the development rights for Michigan to HCX International Development Partners (HCXIDP) and unveiled plans to open 225 salons in the state by 2010.

In addition, HCXIDP has named Josephine Gonzalez, development agent for Michigan. With more than 10 years experience in franchise sales, most recently with Molly Maid, Gonzalez will be responsible for identifying locations for HCX salons and recruiting franchisees and licensed beauty professionals with expertise in hair color, cutting and styling. Under her direction, Gonzalez and franchisees Teresa and Raphael Betanzos of Grosse Pointe Woods will open the area's first HCX salon at Skylofts in Royal Oak, Mich., by year-end. The Betanzo's have also purchased the rights to open HCX salons in Birmingham and the Lakeside Mall area.
