Glass DoctorŽ Vice President Becomes Franchise Owner In Florida
Harmon AutoGlass acquisition provides opportunity to change multiple Florida locations into franchise powerhouse and turns business executive into business owner
WACO, TEXAS (Wednesday, January 07, 2004) -
Greg Holden, vice president of Glass DoctorŽ, has resigned from the executive branch of Glass Doctor in order to become one of the company's newest franchise owners as part of the recent acquisition of Harmon AutoGlass.
Holden has teamed up with Tampa, Fla.-Glass Doctor franchise owner Wayne Plaster to purchase the Harmon AutoGlass locations in Melbourne, Tallahassee and Fort Pierce, Florida. They also have purchased the existing Glass Doctor franchise in West Palm Beach.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn't afford to pass up," Holden said about co-owning his own business. He has purchased well-known establishments that had sales of more than $5.5 million in auto glass replacements and repairs last year. Holden said that he and Plaster plan to introduce flat glass into the system as they grow the existing business.
Holden worked at Harding Glass for 10 years before joining Glass Doctor in June of 1998 when The Dwyer Group acquired Glass Doctor. At Glass Doctor he helped President Robert Tunmire build the franchise from 24 locations to 110 locations. The company's acquisition of Harmon AutoGlass has increased the size of the system to an estimated 374 locations.
Holden called the last five and half years a phenomenal experience in helping individuals achieve their biggest goals and financial dreams while building the largest company in the industry. Now, after acquiring his own existing Harmon AutoGlass locations and implementing Glass Doctor's proven franchise system, Holden is tackling some personal dreams of his own.
"Greg did an outstanding job the last five and half years and played a vital role in the growth and success of Glass Doctor," Tunmire said. "It also became obvious to him in that time that there were great advantages to owning and operating a Glass Doctor franchise. We're very happy for him in his decision, and we know he will be one of the most successful franchisees in our system."
