Kahala Corp Announces 20 Unit Area Representative Agreement In Washington State For Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill Restaurants

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ (Tuesday, November 15, 2005) - Kahala Corp, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based franchisor of eight quick service restaurant concepts totaling more than 1,000 locations and $450 million in system wide sales, announced today that it has entered into a new area representative agreement with Joseph Iannarone of Sound Franchise, LLC. The agreement includes plans to open a minimum of 20 Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill restaurants in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston counties in Washington State over the next 10 years.

This announcement was made by Kevin Blackwell, chairman and chief executive officer of Kahala Corp, which owns and operates: Great Steak & Potato Co., TacoTime, Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill, RANCH ONE Grilled Chicken, Frullati Café & Bakery, Rollerz, Wafflo, and Surf City Squeeze.

Currently, there are 9 Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill Restaurants located throughout Washington State. They are presently found in: Bellevue, Kennewick, Vancouver, Woodinville, Colville, Yakima, and Pasco.

Iannarone, a resident of Seattle since 1993, discovered Samurai Sam’s a couple of months ago when he was researching a variety of franchise opportunities on the Internet.

Financial services will be offered through Accounting & Tax Services located in Tukwila. The law firm of Curran & Mendoza, located in Kent, will offer franchisees assistance with understanding the Samurai Sam’s UFOC and business legal services. Plus, the Real Estate firm of Coldwell Banker Commercial, Danforth & Associates, will be leading the effort to identify and secure prime locations for Samurai Sam’s restaurants.
