Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen President Purchases Ownership Of Company

WACO, TX (Monday, November 03, 2003) - Doug Dwyer, president of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen by WorldwideŽ, has purchased full ownership of the national remodeling franchise from his mother Theresa Dwyer, effective immediately.

“It was always my goal to own my own company and help build it from both executive and ownership levels,” Dwyer said. “I feel very blessed to have this opportunity. You could say that DreamMaker has made my dreams come true, and I plan to play a bigger role in making sure it does the same for all of our franchisees for many years to come.”

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The purchase will allow Dwyer’s mother to ease into retirement and will give Dwyer the power to continue building support for existing franchise owners while expanding the franchise network at an aggressive pace.

“As president of the company, I’ve had a very focused vision for making DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen a household name for the finest remodeling services,” Dwyer said. “We’ve grown significantly in recent years, increasing our expertise, building our brand and gaining critical praise at the highest national levels.”

“Now, representing the second generation to lead DreamMaker, I want to make sure that the company stays within my family for a strong and healthy future,” he added. “Both my father and my mother had a strong allegiance to the business and a dedication to making a difference in people’s lives. I plan to continue that stewardship and make it an unparalleled company on the highest scale in the remodeling industry.”

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen by Worldwide originally was purchased as Gnu Tub by Dwyer’s father, Don Dwyer Sr., in 1987. A longtime leader in the national and international franchising industry, Dwyer Sr. saw the potential of the company, changed its name to Worldwide Refinishing and expanded it to franchise locations throughout the United States and the world. Theresa Dwyer assumed ownership of Worldwide Refinishing in 1994 after her husband passed away.

Doug Dwyer began managing the company in 1997. He guided it into becoming a full-service remodeling business and changed the company’s name to DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in 1999. Today, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen has been named one of the nation’s best remodeling businesses by the industry’s leading publications, and franchisees routinely win awards for the best designs and services of any remodeling business in the United States.

“We’ve raised the bar in our business,” Dwyer said. “As president and owner of the company, my goal is to ensure that we continue to do that everyday. We are dedicated to helping remodelers take their business dreams to the next level with strong margins and quality life.”
