Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen's Shawn Mccadden Receives "Spirit Of Education" Award

WACO, TX (Thursday, May 13, 2004) - Shawn McCadden, franchise systems manager for DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen, is the recipient of the Harold Hammerman "Spirit of Education" award for excellence in training and education in the remodeling industry. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the award, which is given by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. NARI provides support, education and growth opportunities to the professional remodeling industry.

"Shawn's role at DreamMaker requires him to work with a diverse group of franchisees at various stages of growth and experience," said Doug Dwyer, president and owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. "He relates to people well, and uses his excellent communication skills to develop relationships with his trainees and help them learn."

McCadden handles new franchise owner training at DreamMaker's headquarters in Waco, Tx., and provides ongoing regional training for experienced franchise owners. He co-founded the Residential Design/Build Institute, contributes to Design/Build Business magazine and holds the industry designations of Certified Remodeler and Certified Lead Carpenter. Prior to his position at DreamMaker, he was owner and president of Custom Contracting, Inc. in Arlington, Mass.

McCadden obtained his Builder's License by age 18, and attended Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston, Mass. where he focused on building technology and cabinet making. He earned a B.A. in Industrial Arts Education from Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Mass.
