Cold Stone Creamery Prepares For The Ice Age With The Return Of A Mammoth Cool Treat!
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (Monday, December 02, 2002) -
Cold Stone Creamery didn't want to be left in the cold, trapped in the Ice Age, so when given the opportunity to partner with Twentieth Century Fox for its November 26th ICE AGE VHS/DVD release, the company specializing in frozen treats jumped at the chance. Cold Stone Creamery(R), the fastest growing ice cream franchise in the nation, is partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to once again share its mouthwatering Ice Age Creation with movie lovers across the country. Cold Stone Creamery is excavating its own Creation that has been living in freezing temperatures and has tempted the taste buds of many over the last nine months ... the Cold Stone Creamery Ice Age Creation. The Creation, which is entirely white taking on the look of earth twenty thousand years ago, consists of smooth and creamy sweet cream ice cream, fresh sliced bananas, white chocolate chips and yogurt covered pretzels. This chilling Creation(TM) and others will be free for all ICE AGE fans who purchase the ICE AGE video or DVD beginning Nov. 26, 2002. A coupon for a regular size Creation will be packaged inside each copy of the movie.
The Creation, which was launched at the premiere of ICE AGE in February of 2002, was such a big treat that Cold Stone Creamery decided to offer its customers and ICE AGE fans a mammoth opportunity by offering it to the public again, but this time for free.
"The first time we partnered with Twentieth Century Fox and launched the Ice Age Creation, it was a huge success," said Kim Harris, director of marketing communications. "This time around, it was another easy decision whether or not to partner for the video release of the movie ... movies and ice cream are both simple pleasures and what goes better with a take-home movie than an ice cream treat to eat while watching it?"
In addition to the 15 million coupons that will accompany ICE AGE VHS and DVD purchases, Cold Stone Creamery will run a print drop in local newspapers offering $1.00 off pumpkin pies and $3.00 off cakes. The Ice Age Creation will be available at all U.S. locations at regular cost to customers in addition to specialty Ice Age themed cakes from Nov. 11 to Dec. 31. During this time, stores will also be offering Cold Stone Creamery gift certificates, which are perfect for stocking stuffers and other holiday gifts.
The free Creation coupons, which are only available with the purchase of an ICE AGE VHS or DVD are good for ANY Cold Stone Creamery Creation, including the Ice Age Creation, thru March 31, 2003.
About ICE AGE
Twenty thousand years ago, the Earth was being overrun by glaciers, and creatures everywhere were fleeing the onslaught of the new ICE AGE. In this time of peril, we meet the weirdest herd of any Age: a fast-talking but dim sloth named Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo); a moody woolly mammoth named Manny (voiced by Ray Romano); a devilish saber-toothed tiger named Diego (Denis Leary); and an acorn-crazy saber-toothed squirrel known as Scrat. This quartet of misfits unexpectedly, and reluctantly, comes together in a quest to return a human infant to his father. Braving boiling lava pits, treacherous ice caves, freezing temperatures and a secret, evil plot, these "sub-zeroes" become the world's first heroes!
Cold Stone Creamery was developed from two ice cream lovers' dreams to create the perfect ice cream experience, and is carried through by a community of people passionate about ice cream. Specializing in providing The Ultimate Ice Cream Experience(R) for people who love ice cream, Cold Stone Creamery handcrafts its secret recipe for super-premium ice cream, and then customizes each order by combining a variety of mix-ins on a frozen granite stone. The resulting ice cream Creation delivers an unbeatable first bite sensation. With more than 300 Creameries in 31 states and the Caribbean, Cold Stone Creamery plans to establish 1,000 stores by 2004.
