Children's Orchard, Upscale Kids' Resale, Helps Parents Stretch Back To School Budgets In Baton Rouge, Louisiana

ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN (Friday, August 18, 2000) - Consumers looking to stretch their back to school budgets will find bargains galore when the second Children's Orchard upscale resale store opens in Louisiana this Saturday, August 19 at 10 a.m. The store is located at the Marblegates mall, 15228 George O'Neil.

Children's Orchard stores feature a wide selection of quality fall and winter "gently used" clothes, toys and equipment at 50-80% less than retail, for kids under age 7. New items are also sold.

Store owner, Barbara Bruscato who also owns a Children's Orchard store in Monroe with her daughter, Jana Chowns, has been busy buying kids items from area parents for several weeks in anticipation of this Saturday's opening.

"We've had a steady stream of parents selling us items and others just stopping by the store asking when we'll be open," says Bruscato. "The attraction of getting high quality merchandise at half of retail prices in time for fall and winter is a real crowd pleaser."

Throughout the year, Children's Orchard buys and sells quality "gently used" outgrown kids' items. Area parents can make an appointment to sell their items for cash.

Usable items not accepted are donated to a local charity. Parents can receive a tax receipt for their donations.

Children's Orchard Baton Rouge and Monroe as well as other CO stores throughout the U.S. also support the Interstate Program of the Family Builder's Adoption Network, (FBAN), a non-profit organization specializing in abused, neglected and "special needs" adoptions.
