East Of Chicago Pizza Company Gains National Publicity

WILLARD, OHIO (Thursday, June 17, 1999) - As the saying goes, you can never be too rich or too thin... or have too much publicity. And for privately-owned, Ohio-based East of Chicago Pizza Company that translates into coverage in the June issues of the opinion-making trade magazine, Pizza Today and the prestigious national business magazine, Inc.
Pizza Today devoted five pages to East of Chicago Pizza Company in its "Pizza Maker of the Month" feature. The article reported on the company's spectacular 2000 percent growth in the past six years and revealed the company's plan to open 30 locations this year and 500 units systemwide by 2004. It also discussed how the company grew to be the nation's 25th largest pizza chain.

The editors of Inc. magazine included Terry Miller, CFO of East of Chicago Pizza Company, in the magazine's cover story, "Hire the Best -- It Just Got Easier," which reported ways that companies can successfully recruit senior executives.

Earlier this year, Entrepreneur Magazine ranked East of Chicago Pizza Company number 143 on its Franchise 500 list. And as for local publicity, the company enjoyed recent publicity in newspapers such as the Louisville Courier-Journal, The Akron Beacon Journal, and The Cleveland Plain Dealer, among others. In April, Marketing Director Dennis Stevenson appeared on the television show, The Morning Exchange, on Cleveland's ABC affiliate, WEWS-TV, to publicize National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day by creating one of the company's famous specialty Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizzas on the air.

With corporate offices in Willard, Ohio, East of Chicago Pizza Company has 125 dine-in and delivery/carryout locations in five states.
