Eatza Pizza Announces Plans For New Scottsdale Restaurant Near Intersection Of Raintree And Loop 101

First Scottsdale Location Will Also Serve As National Training Center For Company’s New Franchisees

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (Friday, January 07, 2005) - Eatza Pizza, one of the nation’s fastest growing fast casual restaurant operators, today announced plans to open a new restaurant located at 8680 E. Raintree Drive in Scottsdale.

Located near the intersection of Raintree Drive and the Loop 101 in the existing Kohl’s Center, the new 5,000-square-foot freestanding restaurant will introduce the unique pizza buffet concept to Scottsdale residents and incorporate the chain’s new prototype design – including a 1,200-square-foot redemption game area.

The new restaurant – planned to open some time late in the first quarter of the year -- will also serve as a national training facility for the Scottsdale-based company’s new franchisees, according to Ron Stilwell, president.

Eatza Pizza features an all-you-want pizza, pasta, salad and dessert pizza menu at one low price.

Eatza Pizza to Open First Scottsdale Restaurant

The company currently has 58 restaurants opened or under development in the states of Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Ohio and Michigan. There are 14 Eatza Pizza restaurants currently operating or planned in the greater Phoenix area.

Stilwell said the opening of the new Scottsdale restaurant “has been a goal of the company for some time. Since our corporate headquarters are located here, it just makes sense that we have our showcase restaurant in our home city. It was really just a matter of finding the right location.”

The opening of the new Scottsdale restaurant provides Eatza Pizza with an opportunity to introduce its unique pizza buffet concept to nearby residents and workers who have not had a chance to eat at one of the company’s other Valley locations, Stilwell said.

“We expect the Eatza Pizza concept to be well received by families living in the northeast Scottsdale area,” Stilwell said, “as well as office personnel and retail employees who work in the Scottsdale Airpark and Promenade areas. Our goal is to create a mainstream brand image that will resonate with families looking for a quick and enjoyable dining experience at an affordable price.”

The Eatza Pizza president said the new Scottsdale location will be utilized on a regular basis for training new franchise owners who will travel to the Valley for an extensive training program. He said the new restaurant “will incorporate the company’s new prototype design and will feature the company’s recently introduced expanded menu.”
