Ken Dangelo Foundation Donates $10,000 To Mayo Clinic For Cancer Research
Donation In Memory of HomeVestors' Founder Ken DAngelo
DALLAS, TEXAS (Wednesday, November 02, 2005) -
The Ken DAngelo Foundation recently donated $10,000 to the Mayo Clinic in memory of Ken DAngelo, the late founder of HomeVestors of America®, who died early this year after a five-month battle with bile duct cancer.
The Ken D'Angelo Foundation was established in 2005 to award scholarships to students who are pursuing an accredited degree in real estate, franchising, or entrepreneurship. In addition, the Foundation makes charitable contributions for bile duct cancer research. The donation was presented to Jim Driscoll of the Mayo Clinic at HomeVestors first Founders Day, conducted in Dallas.
John P. Hayes, HomeVestors president and CEO, described the reason behind Founders Day.
Founders Day is a time when we remember that our work is about more than buying ugly houses, Hayes said. Kens entrepreneurial spirit has helped hundreds of franchisees realize their dreams of owning their own business, and our collaborative effort keeps his legacy alive. Founders Day is a reminder of the significance of our work."
Ken DAngelo received treatment at the Mayo Clinic, which is the first and largest integrated group practice in the world where doctors from every medical specialty work together to care for patients. It is one of the most experienced treatment centers for bile duct cancer.
