Carlson Hotels Worldwide Presents $50,000 Donation To Aahoa Educational Fund

Donations Have Totaled $345,000 in 10 Years

ORLANDO, FLA (Friday, April 15, 2005) - In recognition of Asian American hoteliers and their unprecedented contribution to the growth of the U.S. hotel industry, Carlson Hotels Worldwide today presented a $50,000 educational donation to the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) at Carlson's annual business convention.

On behalf of Carlson's full service and select service lodging brands, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson; Radisson Hotels & Resorts; Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Park Inn, the company contributed the $50,000 to the educational fund it established in 1995. This marks the 10th year Carlson has donated to the fund bringing the total contribution from Carlson to $345,000. These funds are used to help finance the educational seminars at AAHOA's regional conferences held year-round and also represent an important contribution for AAHOA youth educational classes directed toward future hoteliers.

Nancy Johnson, executive vice president of select service hotels for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, presented the check. "We are pleased to support AAHOA's commitment to offering its members a quality education, and their dedication to the future success of the American hospitality industry," said Johnson. "As a founding sponsor of AAHOA, we share the same values with our Asian American partners in relation to the importance of education, as well as devotion to the entrepreneurial spirit. This bond has fostered a significant relationship with this organization since over 30 percent of the franchisees in our select service brands are AAHOA members. We truly value our partnership with them."

AAHOA represents over 8,000 hotel owners who own approximately 18,000 hotels throughout the U.S.
