Chester’s International, Llc, Announces Plans With Texas Star Investments To Open Two New Franchise Locations

Texas Star to co-brand Chester's restaurants within two new convenience stores

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA (Tuesday, August 09, 2005) - Chester’s International, LLC, an emerging leader of quick service restaurant (QSR) concepts with a proven 50-year history in the food service arena, today announced two individual franchise agreements, under the new Chester’s brand, with Texas Star Investments, Inc., a leading chain of convenience stores.

During the month of August, the two new Chester’s locations will open in brand new Texas Star Convenience stores located in Kingsville, TX, and Refugio, TX. Both locations will also be co-branded with a Subway.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Texas Star,” said Ted Giles, CEO of Chester’s International, LLC and son of Chester’s founder, W.O. Giles. “We are looking forward to a great relationship between Chester’s and Texas Star and to providing our customers with our quality food in a convenient location,” he added.

Tabor Brooks, Vice President of Texas Star Investments, Inc., says that foodservice is an important compliment to their convenience stores and partnering with Chester's International, LLC will help ensure the success of Texas Star’s newest locations. Brooks anticipates building a relationship with Chester’s Chicken saying, “Chester’s restaurant-in-store format is a great concept for our locations providing more appeal to our convenience stores.”

Chester’s International, previously a licensed QSR concept operating under the Chester Fried brand name, changed its name to Chester’s International when it shifted its business model to a franchise program in June 2004. Chester’s currently operates a total of 1,700 locations, 50 of them as franchises. Under the new business model, Chester’s seeks to add a total of 500 franchises within five years.
