Boston Pizza’s Kid’s Card Dials Up Dollars For Kids Help Phone

More than $1.1 million raised across Canada through annual campaign

RICHMOND, BC (Tuesday, November 01, 2005) - Boston Pizza International Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the third annual Kid’s Card campaign in support of Kids Help Phone. Boston Pizza’s goal is to raise $65,000 this year across Canada.

From November 1st – 30th, customers can buy a Kid’s Card at any Boston Pizza restaurant across Canada for a minimum three dollar donation to Kids Help Phone. The card, valued at $35, is good for one year and can be redeemed for eight free kid’s meals.

“Boston Pizza is proud to be a national sponsor of Kids Help Phone for the past seven years,” says Mark Pacinda, President of Boston Pizza International Inc. “Through the Boston Pizza Foundation, we have raised more than $1.1 million for Kids Help Phone and look forward to another successful fundraising campaign this year. It’s important to all of us at Boston Pizza to give back to our communities and support Canadian kids in need.”

Kids Help Phone is Canada's only national, bilingual, 24-hour, toll-free confidential and anonymous phone and web counselling, referral and information service for children and youth aged 4 – 21. Professional counselors trained in social services and crisis intervention answer more than 1,000 calls and online questions each day about relationships, school-related problems, abuse, depression, health and sexuality, alcohol and substance abuse, and suicide.

The Foundation raises funds for three charities on a national level including Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
