Zoup! Debuts At Grand Rapids’ Outdoor Food Festival

FERNDALE, MI (Saturday, January 01, 2005) - Grand Rapids soup fans will have their first Zoup! experience this weekend when the gourmet soup restaurant and carryout samples its award-winning recipes at the “Taste of Grand Rapids and Barbecue Competition.”

Zoup! Alpine-Comstock Park and Zoup! Kentwood – franchises of Zoup! Fresh Soup Company – will “preview” three hand-crafted, customer favorites, including Chicken Pot Pie, Shrimp and Crawfish Etoufee and Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque.

The Alpine-Comstock Park location, which is owned by Brent and Robin Garrison of Spring Lake, is scheduled to open July 28th. Zoup! Kentwood, owned by Roger and Sheila Christensen of Rockford, has targeted August 17th for its opening.

Both stores will offer 12 always-rotating soup varieties each day, including at least one low-fat, vegetarian, dairy-free and spicy recipe. The menu also will feature made-to-order Good Greens! Salads; grilled Meltz! Panini Sandwiches; value-priced TryTwo! Combos; Custom-Crafted Salads and Paninis; and FruitZoup! Smoothies.

“Taste” attendees can look for Zoup! at Fifth Third Ball Park during regular event hours – Friday, July 23rd from 3:00–11:00p.m.; Saturday, July 24th from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.; and Sunday, July 25th from noon to 6:00 p.m.
