Beaner's Gourmet Coffee Signs Current Operators Up For More Stores

LANSING, MICH (Wednesday, July 06, 2005) - BEANER'S Gourmet Coffee continues to expand by enticing brand new owners and current owners to open more stores. This year, the coffee house franchise has opened six new stores and signed 15 new stores to open.

Global Orange Development LLC, BEANER'S franchise company, has seen a few new trends in signings. More and more potential franchisees are signing an area development agreement and current owners are signing on for more stores. These new trends have increased the number of future new stores substantially.



An area development agreement commits the signer to opening more than one location in a defined area. The two latest area development agreements have been for the Ann Arbor and Fenton, Mich. areas. Both agreements plan for four stores to open in those areas.



In the past month, two current operators signed to open more stores. Multi-unit operators are not new to BEANER'S; however, the number of multi-unit operators has grown system wide from one to five, and is a great example of how success at the unit level can create organic growth:



Mohamed Shetiah owns five locations in the Lansing, Mich. area and just signed to open one more.



Lance and Patty Williams own one location in Okemos, Mich. and just signed to open one more in Lansing, Mich.



Deb Kirchen owns three locations in Dewitt, Lansing, and Grand Rapids, Mich. and plans to open one more.



Jane O'Connor owns two locations in East Lansing and Okemos, Mich.



Barry Greenblatt owns multiple locations in Toledo, Ohio.



"The franchisees are experiencing success in their stores and they are confident that when they open another store they will experience the same success," says Michael McFall, President.



BEANER'S opened its first store in 1995 and began franchising in 1999. Global Orange Development, BEANER'S' franchising company, has opened 33 BEANER'S stores since. There are franchises in four states, including eight in Toledo, Ohio, and 23 in Michigan: 12 in the Lansing area, and stores in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Traverse City. The company plans to open 15 more locations by the end of this year.
