Carlson Hotels Worldwide Adds 13 Properties To Its Global Portfolio Of Brands In October

MINNEAPOLIS (Wednesday, November 30, 2005) - Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced that the company has added 13 new locations under four of its brands globally in October. These include two new Radisson Hotels & Resorts® properties in Malta and Mexico, one Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts property in India, three Country Inns & Suites By Carlsonsm locations in the U.S., and seven Park Inn® hotels in the U.K. and India. These new additions bring Carlson's global portfolio to 913 hotels with 145,497 rooms in 69 countries.

"As we approach the end of 2005, I'm delighted with the development progress our brands have made this year," said Sam Winterbottom, executive vice president of development, Carlson Hotels Worldwide. "In all, we've added 96 hotels since January 1. Most notably in October, was the addition of seven Park Inn hotels. Each has unique characteristics to make them interesting and individual, but all offer guests the fresh and relaxing guest experience that defines the Park Inn brand."

Park Inn

Each of the seven new hotels joining the Park Inn brand in October is ideal for leisure or business travelers alike, and bring the brand's global inventory to 79 hotels and 10,528 guestrooms. Of the new properties, five are located in the U.K. and two are in India. The U.K. hotels include the 168-room Park Inn West Bromwich; the Park Inn Lakeside with 97 guestrooms; the 145-room Park Inn Northampton; the Park Inn Nottingham with 172 rooms; and the Park Inn Telford with 153 guestrooms. New hotels in India are the 43-room Park Inn Manali, and the 60-room Park Inn Badrinath.

Country Inns & Suites By Carlson

The three new Country Inns & Suites By Carlson hotels joining the brand's portfolio in October include the 62-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Mishawaka in Ind., owned by Jerald Good; the 100-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Aiken in S.C., owned by Bansi Patel; and the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Merrillville in Ind., which is owned by Sanjay Patel and features 62 guestrooms. These new additions bring the brand's global hotel and room count totals to 377 and 30,351, respectively.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts

The two hotels joining the Radisson brand in October are the 337-room Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa in Mellieha, Malta, which is considered one of Malta's most exclusive five-star resorts, and the 119-room Radisson Poliforum Plaza Hotel in Leon, Mexico, located near the Poliforum Convention Center in downtown Leon. To date, Radisson¿s global portfolio includes 414 hotels with 95,840 guestrooms.

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts

Designed to suit the needs of both business and corporate travelers, the new Park Plaza Royal Palms in Mumbai, India, features 223 spacious guestrooms and is convenient to the city's commercial hubs, the domestic and international airports and central business districts of North Mumbai. Park Plaza's property and room inventory is currently 36 hotels and 6,244 guestrooms worldwide.
