50 Years After Introducing AM/FM Radios And Cassette Players To The Automotive Market, Al & Ed's Autosound Continues To Unveil The Newest And Hottest Technology In The Industry

VAN NUYS, CA (Tuesday, January 04, 2005) - Al & Ed's Autosound, Southern California's largest mobile electronics and communications specialist, was chosen by the LA Auto Show to help "extreme its ride." The LA Auto Show will unveil its project car, a customized Mitsubishi 2005 Lancer Evolution VIII RS, to kick-off the Annual Auto Show on January 7, 2005, representing the most innovative vehicles and technology of 2005. Al & Ed's Autosound will exhibit six more examples of their "mobile electronics artwork," illustrating how cutting-edge gadgets as well as practical mobile electronics can best be integrated into any type of vehicle, from the affordable to the extravagant. The vehicles will be exhibited at booth K700 in Kentia Hall showroom of the Los Angeles Convention Center, for the media days January 5 and 6, and for the duration of the show, from January 7 - January 16, 2005.

"Car makers add gadgets to their cars every year, but what consumers may not know is that those technologies are often first introduced in the aftermarket, by companies like ours," said Mr. Mobile Electronics, otherwise known as John Haynes, the chief technology buyer for Al & Ed's Autosound. "We can make any cool new cars seen at the show cooler."

For the seventh year in a row, the LA Auto Show has called upon aftermarket exhibitors to modify a vehicle with top-of-the-line technology, representing the continuing popularity of vehicle personalization and audio and performance tuning.

Al & Ed's Autosound was tapped to install a comprehensive audio/video system for this years automobile, the Evolution VIII RS. The Evo was outfitted with an Alpine flip-up touch-screen monitor, DVD player, XM Satellite Radio, iPod interface, PlayStation2, a speaker array and powerful amplifiers, all that can be disconnected from the Monster Cable wiring and removed from the car when weight-shedding is required for performance driving, making the Mitsubishi 2005 Lancer Evolution VIII RS ready to conquer the streets of LA.

Al & Ed's Autosound also installed a Locator Solutions Autobug GPS tracking system for peace of mind and security and a Racetech driving seat to give the driver enhanced performance and complete control.

"The automobile is our artistic canvas and vehicles like this allow us to 'show and tell' our creativity and abilities," said Gabi Mashal, president of Al & Ed's Autosound. "Working on the cutting edge projects like this, contributes to our innovative designs, helping highlight today's hottest technologies."

One of today's hottest technologies that Al & Ed's Autosound will have on hand at the LA Auto Show is TrafficGauge™ -- the first handheld, real-time mobile traffic map for Los Angeles and Orange County. The TrafficGauge™ Mobile Traffic Map helps drivers outsmart traffic congestion by giving them a birds-eye view of Los Angeles and Orange County freeways, helping them pinpoint traffic slowdowns to make better driving decisions, such as taking an alternative route, knowing how much time to allow for a trip, or by simply deciding to not leave the house altogether. The handheld wireless device requires no scrolling and is always on, works right out of the box and can be carried in a pocket, purse or mounted on the vehicle dashboard or windshield.

The show cars on display in the Al & Ed's Autosound booth (K700) in Kentia Hall include:

BMW "X5.1": Once again Al & Ed's Autosound has risen to the challenge by creating the first ever 5.1 surround sound BMW X5 SUV with blue tooth integration. The "X5.1" gives a new meaning to audiophile with 5 sets of Alpine speakers, 2 Alpine subwoofers, an XM tuner and seemless iPod integration. If that wasn't enough, videophiles will also be pleased with an in-dash touch screen DVD monitor with an Alpine navigation system, touch screen headrest monitors, a 6-disc DVD changer, touch screen TV tuner and Playstation2. Visually, the "X5.1" was given a custom interior carbon fiber paneling and 22" Antera wheels.

The iPod Range Rover: Outfitted to the nines, this Range Rover has been Extremed both inside and out. The exterior received 22" wheels and tires, Brembo brakes for performance driving, a custom exhaust, illuminated door sills and custom painted mirrors, while the interior was upgraded with a suede headliner, luxury designer interior inserts and carbon fiber panels. A back-up safety camera was integrated into the factory dashboard monitor, which has been converted for video viewing.

Rear passengers can enjoy DVD playback on the dual headrest entertainment monitors. The Rover features "iPod your car" integration technology, connecting the popular hand-held hard drive to the vehicles entertainment system with the ice>Link: iPod, affording the driver control of the iPod using existing steering wheel controls. The ice>Link: iPod enables drivers to fast forward, rewind and search using the car's existing controls - an especially useful feature with steering wheel entertainment controls. Available in over 125 vehicle applications, AL & Ed's Autosound encourages every driver to take control of their "commuting soundtrack."

2005 Dodge Magnum: Considered to be one of the "coolest" station wagons ever produced the Al & Ed's Autosound Dodge Magnum has been customized with vertical opening doors, smoked taillights, a custom exhaust and 22" wheels and tires, making this magnum the "COOLEST" of them all. The interior also received a cool all-in-one navigation entertainment control unit with a 9" screen and DVD player, and a rearview mirror monitor back-up camera.

Oakley Drag Truck: Called on by Oakley to extreme the sound system in their new marketing vehicle, Al & Ed's Autosound took on the challenge by customizing the interior of the new Dodge Ram truck. First, replacing the dual knob factory radio with ECLIPSE'S Award-Winning AVN2454 and installing custom-built fiberglass radio bezel to showcase the new audio-visual-navigation universal control system. The 6.5-inch wide LCD display screen in each vehicle houses the radio, CD, DVD, in-car video, and GPS navigational system. The truck then received an advanced Kicker speaker system, complete with custom-plated speakers - SS65.2 components for the front and K65 coaxial for the rear - two 10" L7 sub woofers - suspended by welded metal frames in the rear quarter panel windows - a SX900.4 4-channel amplifier and the SX1250.1 mono block amplifier. Two fiberglass units were made to hold the amplifiers, finished with spray polyfill and wrapped in black suede.

The $200,000 Honda Civic Si: Normally priced around $20,000, this Honda Civic Si has been transformed into the ultimate entertainment vehicle. From state of the art mobile electronics to a completely redesigned interior and exterior, this is no run of the mill Civic.
