Al & Ed's Autosound Tapped By Oakley To "Extreme" Its 2005 Marketing Show Cars

Oakley, Inc. Teams Up With California's Mobile Electronics Specialist To Take Visual And Audible Stimulation To The Extreme For Specialty X Games, Drag Race And Motor Cross Oakley Trucks

VAN NUYS, CA (Wednesday, March 16, 2005) - Al & Ed's Autosound, Southern California's largest and oldest mobile electronics and communications specialist, has delivered three specially-designed Dodge trucks with fully customized audio, video and navigational equipment, "driving" Oakley, Inc. marketing vehicles to the edge for their participation in upcoming extreme sporting events. The X Games Dodge Durango, Dodge Ram Drag Truck and the Motor Cross Dodge Ram will all be in demand at events across the country throughout 2005.

"The automobile is our artistic canvas and vehicles like these allow us to showoff our creative abilities," said Gabi Mashal, president of Al & Ed's Autosound. "Working with companies on the cutting edge of their respective industries, like Oakley, motivates us to create innovative designs that highlight today's hottest technologies."

The mobile electronic specialists at Al & Ed's Autosound replaced the factory installed dual-knob radio in each truck with ECLIPSE'S Award-Winning AVN2454 and installed custom-built fiberglass radio bezels to showcase the new audio-visual-navigation universal control system, which has the fastest route plotting time of any navigation system on the market - taking only 5.5 seconds to route a trip from Los Angeles to New York, a 2.5-second re-route - and simultaneously provides two alternate routes, giving drivers options for more leisurely travel or solutions to traffic tie-ups. Each vehicle's 6.5-inch wide LCD display screen houses the radio, CD, DVD, in-car video, and GPS navigational system.

Each truck was equipped with advanced Kicker speaker systems, complete with custom-plated speakers - SS65.2 components for the front and K65 coaxial for the rear - two 10" L7 sub woofers - suspended by welded metal frames in the rear quarter panel windows - a SX900.4 4-channel amplifier and the SX1250.1 mono block amplifier. Two fiberglass units, wrapped in black suede, were made to hold the amplifiers.

All three Oakley vehicles will engulf the motor sports scene, making appearances throughout the nation.
