LOS ANGELES (Monday, April 04, 2005) -
Al & Ed's Autosound, Southern California's largest mobile electronics and communications specialist, and Alpine Electronics, "...the undisputed champion of the demo vehicle..." Mike Cajayon, Car Audio Magazine, have teamed up to turn up the volume at the Lifestyle Expo, booth 1717, at the 31st annual Long Beach Grand Prix, April 8, 9 and 10, at the Long Beach Convention Center.
"Whether race attendees favor a contest of speed, sound or one of control, such as drifting, there's something for them at the Grand Prix and at our booth," said Mr. Mobile Electronics, otherwise known as John Haynes, the chief technology buyer for Al & Ed's Autosound. "Our specialists will be on hand to show enthusiasts how they can 'rev-up' their lifestyle, by stylishly integrating winning technology into their vehicle."
Examples of every Speed Racer's "must haves," will be on display at booth 1717, including:
APEXi 2003 US D1 Drift Car: The Inaugural Long Beach Drifting Challenge is the newest addition to the Long Beach Grand Prix. Attendees will be treated to street-legal Drifting for the first time and get a first-hand look at a 2004 Irwindale Speedway drifting champion at the Al & Ed's Autosound/Alpine booth. The APEXi Mazda RX7 has been outfitted with a completely removable Alpine entertainment system, fully loaded with an in-dash iPod-interface-ready radio/DVD/CD player, 6 1/2" Type-S component 2-way speaker system, 5/4/3 channel power amplifier, 12' Type-S series sub-woofer in a custom enclosure, two 5.8" LCD wide screen color monitors on monitor stands, component system panels, and a customized gauge pod for the APEXi gauges.
The "BMW X5.1": Al & Ed's Autosound's BMW X5.1 gives new meaning to audiophile with five sets of Alpine speakers, two Alpine subwoofers, an XM tuner and seamless iPod integration utilizing the Alpine iPod interface to give drivers control of their iPod through their steering wheel controls. If that wasn't enough, videophiles will also be delighted with the Alpine all-in-one in-dash touch screen DVD monitor navigation system, touch screen headrest monitors, a 6-disc DVD changer, TV tuner and Playstation2. Visually, the "BMW X5.1" was treated with custom interior carbon fiber panels and 22" Antera wheels.
Mitsubishi 2005 Lancer Evolution VIII RS - Al & Ed's Autosound was tapped by the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show to install a comprehensive audio/video system for their show car, the Evolution VIII RS. The Evo was outfitted with an Alpine flip-up touch-screen monitor, DVD player, XM Satellite Radio, iPod interface, PlayStation2, a speaker array and powerful amplifiers, and all can be disconnected from the Monster Cable wiring and removed from the car when weight-shedding is required for performance driving, making the Mitsubishi 2005 Lancer Evolution VIII RS ready to conquer the streets of Long Beach.
