Children’s Services Franchisor Anticipates Consumers Needs With Debut Of Kid-pleasing Art Series

RESTON, VA (Sunday, July 03, 2005) - Abrakadoodle, a national franchisor in creative art education, is pleased to pull another fun and innovative art program out of its magic hat with the launch of Portfolio Kids. Portfolio Kids is a series of unique art classes designed to fill a child’s portfolio with creative works, such as painting, modeling and digital art. These classes for children ages 3-12 provide themed instruction over the course of eight lessons that use different mediums in art.

“We have been receiving great consumer response to our art programs,” stated Mary Rogers, M.Ed., and founder of Abrakadoodle. “Portfolio Kids responds to our results-oriented culture, providing children with valuable art experiences that creatively illustrate the fruits of their labors.”

Designed for children ages 3-12, Portfolio Kids provides themed instruction for eight lessons that use different mediums in art. Portfolio Kids delights children with intriguing themes as students focus on compiling a series of pieces to include into a portfolio of original works. In Media Mania, students learn to print with tempera, acrylics and digital art. Time Machine involves art ranging from Greek sculpture and cave painting to pop art. Finally, Stampede engages children in creating personal stamps, printing with feathers and textures and Japanese fish printing.

“I am really excited about what Portfolio Kids offers children,” commented Lori Schue, award-winning artist & author and Director of Curriculum for Abrakadoodle. “We expose students to a variety of artistic styles, engage them creatively, and send them away at the end with a portfolio of their own creation.”
