Delaware Director To Receive Prestigious Sba Award

ERDENHEIM, PA (Monday, April 25, 2005) - Delaware Director Mary Anne Murray will be honored as Delaware’s 2005 Small Business Person of the Year. The SBA will honor Murray for her success in growing her GRISWOLD SPECIAL CARE office over the last six years.

Murray acquired the existing Delaware office in 1999 and quickly expanded its client base by 500 percent. Today, Murray employs nine office staff and has recruited approximately 350 caregivers. In addition to the original office in Newark, she recently opened a second office in Lewes to serve the growing retirement population in Delaware’s beach communities, and plans to open a third office in central Delaware later this year.

Each year SBA’s 68 district offices across the country recognize their outstanding state and local small business owners and advocates at local Small Business Week events. The winners then compete with other state winners in their respective regions to determine the 10 regional Champions of Small Business Awards.

Murray and the other state Small Business Persons of the Year from around the country are being honored at the SBA Expo ‘05 in Washington from April 26-28, 2005, at the Washington HiltonThe state winners represent a diverse cross-section of American small businesses from building contractors to restaurateurs, from motorcycle dealerships to hybrid vegetable producers.

Murray was honored as the 2004 Franchise of the Year by the International Franchise Association.
