Golf Usa Selects Florida Site For 2001 International Convention

FIRST TIME EVER OUTSIDE OF HOME STATE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (Thursday, July 26, 2001) - Golf USA’s CEO, Mike Henderson, announced today that the company has selected their site for the 2001 International Golf USA Convention. The convention will be held at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Florida, October 21 – 23. This will be the first time in the company’s history that the convention will be held outside Oklahoma City, where the company is headquartered.

Golf USA franchisees will fly in for the event from all parts of the world; the chain has over 100 stores in 40 states, as well as in Belgium, Canada, Chile, Puerto Rico, and Sweden. Additionally, over sixty golf manufacturers will attend to showcase new product lines and exclusive Golf USA buying programs. “Since we purchased the company last year, we’ve put a strong focus on developing programs that strengthen our franchisees and our partnerships with them,” said Henderson. “A new location for our convention at a top-flight resort like the Sandestin is one of many changes that we’re all looking forward to.”

Two event highlights will be the Awards Banquet, which honors the chain’s top-producing franchisees, and the annual International Golf USA Golf Tournament, this year a “Florida Scramble”, which will be played on Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort’s world-renowned Raven and Bay Town golf courses.
