Corporate Headquarters Recognizes Kitchen Solvers Of Falmouth For Community Service
LA CROSSE, WI (Tuesday, January 11, 2005) -
The Kitchen Solvers Corporate Headquarters is pleased to recognize Kitchen Solvers of Falmouth for its community service work during the 2004 holiday season. David Gilbody owner and Jim Nicholas General Manager donated a complete kitchen renovation project to a local needy family. After consulting with Community Counseling of Maine, Gilbody and Nicholas were introduced to Cissy Forgione a single mother of two boys with autism. After meeting Ms. Forgione, Gilbody and Nicholas chose Ms. Forgione to receive this wonderful contribution.
The kitchen renovation project is valued at $5,500.00 and it was installed just prior to Christmas so the Forgiones could enjoy their new kitchen for the holidays. Details of the kitchen remodeling project included refacing white painted cabinets with custom made solid wood natural oak doors and drawer fronts, installing high-grade hinges and decorative handles, installing new custom-built post-formed laminate countertops, adding a custom constructed base cabinet next to the stove, and incorporating kitchen accessory and convenience items. David and Jim also did some patch work on ceiling tiles that were damaged during a leak from an upstairs bath.
Along with donating the cost of materials and installation, Gilbody and Nicholas were able to recruit a number of suppliers to contribute to the project by discounting the cost of some of the materials. They included Walzcraft Industries, refacing material, Bangor Laminates, countertops, Sorensons Hardware, new cabinet handles and hinges, and Waynes Plumbing, re-plumb sink and the installation of a new garbage disposal. David and Jim even were successful in recruiting LP Appliance to contribute a new microwave and dishwasher.
Jim and I have had the pleasure of operating a successful Kitchen Solvers franchise in the Falmouth and Portland areas. Donating a newly remodeled kitchen to a family in need is our way of giving something back to the community, David Gilbody stated. Jim Nicholas added, Dave and I felt that donating our time and the cost of materials to a disadvantaged family would be a wonderful testament of our appreciation to all of our past customers.
