Bark Busters And Women’s Safety Education Group Team Up To Teach Dog Safety

World’s Largest Dog Training Company to Provide Dog Safety Materials to Enhance WSEG Safety Training Programs

ENGLEWOOD, COLO (Tuesday, December 06, 2005) - Bark Busters, the world’s largest dog training company, today announced a strategic alliance in which the Company will provide dog safety training materials to Women’s Safety Education Group (WSEG), a national women’s education organization that conducts seminars teaching women safety and defense strategies. In addition, the alliance includes a variety of cross-marketing initiatives designed to advance the missions of both organizations. WSEG conducts safety training to more than 1,500 women and children every month. The dog safety materials are based on Bark Busters’ expertise in dog behavior and the experience of the company’s network of dog behavioral therapists who have successfully trained more than 300,000 dogs worldwide.

The WSEG professional network, which includes its affiliated Kidz Safety Education Group, speaks to groups of women and children of all ages in communities across the country about safety and self-defense strategies. Current WSEG clients include organizations such as the Wells Fargo Banking Group, the Girl Scouts of America, Curves Fitness Centers, American Association of University Women, and many national university sororities and organizations. WSEG currently conducts seminars in more than a dozen different states and is in the process of expanding its program coverage nationwide. The WSEG network will begin including dog safety information in their presentations by the end of 2005.

"A common thread for both organizations is a passion for women and children’s safety," said Denise Bach, president of WSEG. "Bark Busters has vast expertise and extensive materials on dog safety that we look forward to integrating into our presentations. These materials will add a new and important element to our training programs."

"There is clear synergy between our organizations, explained Natalie Crowe, master dog behavioral therapist and co-founder of Bark Busters USA. "More than 80% of our clients are women, so this new alliance offers us a unique opportunity to help promote the valuable programs offered by WSEG and expand its training curriculum by providing dog safety materials."

According to the American Veterinary Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 4.7 million Americans suffer from dog bites each year. The severity of the bites varies, but approximately 800,000 people annually are injured seriously enough to require medical attention, and 12 people on average die due to mortal wounds. The dog-related safety materials provided by Bark Busters to WSEG will cover safety guidelines, including how to handle the approach of a strange dog, how to recognize dog temperaments, how to introduce a newborn to the family dog, life-saving techniques in the case of a dog attack, dog safety tips for children and basic methods of communications with our canine companions.

"Bark Busters is committed to teaching people how to communicate clearly with their dogs," added Crowe, "not only to reduce the risk of dog bites but also to enhance owners’ relationships with their dogs. Partnering with WSEG is an excellent avenue to further the Bark Busters mission."

With the experience of training over 300,000 dogs worldwide, Bark Busters behavioral therapists are renowned authorities in the area of correcting dog behavior problems, offering clients a variety of natural dog training services right in their homes to correct any behavior or obedience issue in dogs of all ages and breeds, including puppies. The Company’s natural training technique leverages the same communications methods – voice tones and body language – that dogs follow as part of their instinctual pack mentality. About 80 percent of Bark Busters’ clients require only one two-hour home visit from a licensed dog behavioral therapist, if they continue with just 10 to15 minutes a day follow-up exercises for several weeks. All training takes place right in the home where the problems generally occur. Bark Busters’ training is the only service of its kind that is guaranteed for the life of the dog.
