Portland-area Cruise Holidays Store Honored With 2005 Golden Anchor Award

Beth and Steve Levich from Cruise Holidays of Portland Win Third Award in Three Years

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Wednesday, October 26, 2005) - Cruise Holidays, North America’s largest cruise-specialty retail franchise, presented their 2005 Golden Anchor Award to Beth and Steve Levich of Cruise Holidays of Portland, OR. The recipient of the Golden Anchor exemplifies the store most engaged in programs, meetings and conventions, and use of tools and technology provided to stores by Cruise Holidays headquarters. The Levichs were honored during the 2005 Cruise Holidays Annual Convention which was held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, October 16-21, 2005.

“The theme of this year’s Convention was Different by Degrees,” said Peter Thomson, Vice President and COO of Cruise Holidays. “The work the Levichs have put into their business and the success they’ve had using the tools we provide to them has allowed Beth and Steve to truly set themselves apart as cruise experts. They are very deserving of this award.”

The Levichs opened Cruise Holidays of Portland, located at 13611 NW Cornell Road, three years ago. In their first year, they received Cruise Holidays’ “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Successful Group Promotion” awards. In addition to the 2005 Golden Anchor Award, one of the Levichs’ 12 agents, Leslie Hockett, was recognized as a recipient of the Outstanding Sales Achievement Award. Prior to joining Cruise Holidays of Portland, Leslie spent 12 years onboard cruise lines as a Social Director with both Celebrity and Princess Cruises.

As for the day-to-day operations, Beth is the front office leader while Steve handles the back office, marketing strategy, partner relations and finances. The Levichs ensure their staff receives the best training available and have insisted that their sales agents experience all possible cruise lines by attending all of the cruise lines’ training cruises.

The Levichs have lived in Portland for 15 years. Before Cruise Holidays, Steve was a marketing director with Intel Corporation. In addition to her cruising experience, Beth’s background includes over 20 years with the insurance industry.
