Tropical Smoothie Café Brings Las Vegas

HENDERSON, NEV (Monday, June 11, 2001) - Get ready Las Vegas to transport your taste buds to the tropics. Tropical Smoothie Café has opened its first location in Nevada and is taking the Silver State by storm.

“We have had a number of people come in, try our smoothies for the first time and comment how our blend of tropical flavors are unlike anything they have ever tasted before,” said Dina Boozer, store owner and area developer for Tropical Smoothie Café. “We have every variety of smoothies imaginable, such as tasty low fat smoothies, filling meal replacement smoothies, weight gain smoothies, memory boosting smart smoothies, power smoothies and the popular dessert smoothies. We also have convenient calorie and fat gram nutritional information available for each one of our smoothies along with non-dairy smoothies like our Berry Blast which is strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.”

But the menu at Tropical Smoothie Café isn’t only limited to Smoothies.

“We also feature tasty gourmet wraps, healthy specialty sandwiches, crisp salads and fresh squeezed juice blends,” Boozer said. “They make a great alternative to traditional breakfasts, lunches and dinners and most importantly they are easily freshly made for healthy people on the go.”

For a unique twist, Tropical Smoothie Café offers Tortizzas - a creative combination between a Mexican tortilla and an Italian pizza. With toppings such as barbeque chicken and sweet and spicy chicken, Tortizzas are already a Southern Nevada favorite.

“It’s a fun, fresh and tasty twist on pizza,” Boozer said. “They have already been extremely popular.”

Even if you aren’t seeking a tasty lunch or fruity smoothie, Tropical Smoothie Café is becoming a neighborhood place to meet and interact with other people in the community.

“You can hold an informal meeting, surf the net for free, post a business card to network with other local business people or simply enjoy taking a trip away from home at Tropical Smoothie Café,” Boozer said. “I felt Las Vegas desperately needed healthy fast food. At Tropical Smoothie Café you get a sense of energy and a happy environment while enjoying your meal. Further, with free Internet access you can enjoy your meal by yourself without feeling uncomfortable. I searched all over town for that sense of community and never found what I needed, so I made it happen myself!”

The first Tropical Smoothie Café in Las Vegas is located at 10612 South Eastern Avenue in Henderson, at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Horizon Ridge Parkway. Two more locations are planned for the Las Vegas Valley in the next few months.
