RITA’S IN SQUIRREL HILL TO TREAT HALLOWEEN TRICKSTERS

PITTSBURGH, PA (Monday, October 17, 2005) - Ghosts, goblins, witches, and other Halloween tricksters who visit the Rita’s Ices, Cones, Shakes and Other Cool Stuff at Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh (5880 Forbes Avenue) on Halloween between 5 and 7 p.m. will receive a free 6 oz. size Italian ice. Anyone in costume, regardless of age, will receive the special Halloween treat.

Rita’s is part of the Squirrel Hill Merchants Association “Safe Halloween” program. Association members pool their resources to provide additional police patrols, lighting and decorations to create a more festive atmosphere in which to celebrate Halloween.

“As our season winds down, we want to thank the community for their support,” said Larry Maloney, co-owner of the Squirrel Hill Rita’s along with Steve Katz. “It’s our hope that parents will feel more comfortable so that their children can just have fun.”
