Firehouse Subs is Fired Up about 2003 Growth

JACKSONVILLE, FLA (Friday, February 21, 2003) - Firehouse Subs, the Jacksonville based sub/sandwich chain that opened in 1994, has expanded to 84 locations in six southeastern states. This year, the company will open 15 corporate restaurants, with Firehouse Restaurant Group investing more than $2,000,000. In addition, the company that currently employs 950 people will add more than 225 new positions in 2003.

"We have experienced phenomenal growth over the past eight years and our future is brighter than ever," says Robin Sorensen, president and co-founder of Firehouse Subs. "We are excited about 2003, in which we plan to open 90 plus corporate and franchise units."

The fifteen corporate stores will open in Jacksonville, Ocala, Vero Beach and Gainesville, Fla., as well as, Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head, South Carolina. In addition, the company will open more than 70 franchise locations. Firehouse Subs plans to open 400 new locations by 2007.
