FASTSIGNS® Sign And Graphics Centers And FASTSIGNS International, Inc. Donate $10,000 To American Red Cross For Tsunami Victims

CARROLLTON, TX (Monday, January 24, 2005) - FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics centers in the United States and Canada joined with FASTSIGNS International, Inc., the worldwide franchisor of FASTSIGNS® centers, to donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross to benefit victims of the recent tsunamis.

The donations, collected at the international sign and graphics franchisor’s 2005 convention held earlier this month in Phoenix, resulted from an idea from Greg Shugarts, owner of a FASTSIGNS® center in Kirkland, WA. Shugarts suggested that donations be collected at the convention for the tsunami victims. During the convention, male employees of FASTSIGNS International, Inc. wore red-and-blue ties with the company’s logo. FASTSIGNS® franchisees and FASTSIGNS International executives decided that the best way to raise money for the American Red Cross was to sell the extra FASTSIGNS® ties to people attending the convention. By buying the ties, FASTSIGNS® owners raised $5,000, which FASTSIGNS International, Inc., and its parent corporation, Roark Capital, matched for a total $10,000 donation. Individual employees of FASTSIGNS International, Inc. also contributed to the donation.

“This is a great example of how our franchisees support one another and the community,” said Gary Salomon, president and chief executive officer of FASTSIGNS International Inc., who co-founded the company in 1985. FASTSIGNS® now has more than 450 sign and graphic centers in six countries.

“I'm glad I suggested the donation idea, but everyone who donated deserves the credit for demonstrating how generous our network can be,” said Shugarts.
