Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops Makes Countryside Debut

Grand-opening celebration planned for Saturday, October 22

CHAMPAIGN, ILL. (Wednesday, October 12, 2005) - Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops is celebrating its Countryside, Ill., debut by throwing a grand-opening party on Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is located at 5321 S. La Grange Rd., Unit C, which is on the southeast corner of Plainfield Rd. and La Grange Rd.

During the four-hour celebration, Jimmy John's will sell its award-winning subs for $1. In addition, I-Pods will be given away during a drawing.

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops is unlike any sub shop in the industry; no games or gimmicks, just old-fashioned, homemade sandwiches made from fresh-baked bread, all-natural meats and vegetables that are sliced daily at each restaurant.

General Manager, Dean Hennings, and Assistant Manager, Bryan Taylor, operate the Countryside location. The 27-seat restaurant has 25 employees and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Also, the store accepts all major credit cards and delivers to La Grange, Countryside and parts of Hodgkins and Western Springs.

Jeffrey Fort Jr. of JS Fort Group Inc. owns and operates the store. "I have been eating at Jimmy John's since it first opened in Charleston, Ill. I used to be a stock trader for Kingstree Trading in Chicago, but I wanted to get into business for myself and decided that Jimmy John's was the perfect fit for me." This is his first location, with a second restaurant to open by the end of 2005 in Burbank on Harlem Ave.
