Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops Makes Cary Debut

Grand-opening celebration to benefit local charity

CHAMPAIGN, ILL. (Wednesday, October 12, 2005) - Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops is celebrating its Cary, Ill., debut by throwing a grand-opening party on Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3106A Three Oaks Road, which is located a quarter of a mile east of the intersection of route 14 and Three Oaks Rd.

During the four-hour event, Jimmy John's will sell its award-winning subs (#1 through 6) for $1.50. In addition, prizes will be given away in a drawing. Also, $500 of the proceeds during the celebration will be donated to Community Christmas, which is a local charity that helps the elderly and families who are in need by providing them with food and gifts during the holiday season. Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops is unlike any sub shop in the industry; no games or gimmicks, just old-fashioned, homemade sandwiches made from fresh-baked bread, all-natural meats and vegetables that are sliced daily at each restaurant.

Managed by Kelley Mathisen, the restaurant seats 44 patrons inside and offers outdoor seating for 12. The store has 24 employees and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Also, the restaurant delivers to the immediate area and accepts all major credit cards.

Cal Johnston of Sublicious Subs-Cary, Inc. owns and operates the store. This is his third Jimmy John's location, with plans to open additional stores in Crystal Lake and Huntley or the surrounding area.
