AUNTIE ANNE'S CELEBRATES WORLDWIDE MILESTONE

Fashion Island Mall in Bangkok, Thailand, Marks 100th International Location

GAP, PENNSYLVANIA (Wednesday, July 30, 2003) - Auntie Anne’s, Inc., the largest soft pretzel franchisor in North America, is proud to announce their 100th international store opening! On June 14, Auntie Anne’s at Fashion Island Mall in Bangkok, Thailand, opened for business – providing shoppers with fresh, hand-rolled soft pretzels.

Auntie Anne’s, through licensee Food Novelties Company Limited, first entered the Thai market in April 1998, and in just five short years the pretzel has proven to be a big hit in the “Land of Smiles.” With 28 Auntie Anne’s stores, Thailand has the most locations of the 12 countries in Auntie Anne’s International program.

John Roda, Managing Director of Auntie Anne’s International Program, “It’s amazing to think that in just 15 short years we’ve gone from a single farmer’s market stand to locations around the world. It is a milestone for Auntie Anne's International Program to reach 100 stores, just as it was a milestone in 1992, when Auntie Anne's opened its 100th domestic store in Media, Pennsylvania. This achievement reinforces that Auntie Anne’s is much more than a regional treat, we’re truly worldwide!”

To showcase this milestone, representatives from Auntie Anne’s, Inc. will visit Thailand to participate in grand opening festivities on August 1. Damon Dranchak, Director of Operations, and Tony DeSantis, Director of International Operations, will present Food Novelties Company Limited with a commemorative plaque and achievement award. *

At Auntie Anne’s 2003 Franchise Convention awards ceremony, Thailand took home honors for International Outstanding Manager and regional and systemwide sales awards for greatest percentage increase from 2001 to 2002 for single unit and multiple units.
