SBARRO FRANCHISE GIVES $2000 TO PENN STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (Monday, May 05, 2003) - Dave Gingher, assistant director of Penn State Food Services, recently presented a $2000 check from Sbarro, a national restaurant chain, to Sue Paterno for the Paterno Libraries Endowment, Penn State University Libraries' largest endowment. Sbarro has pledged $2000 annually to fund a student scholarship or other University need. For the inaugural year of this gift, Gingher said that his management team decided to give the money to the Libraries, where it would benefit current as well as future students.
Penn State Food Services owns and operates the local Sbarro franchise in the Union Street Marketplace, part of the newly renovated HUB-Robeson Center at University Park.
