Denny's Awards Scholarships to 85 Latino Students

SPARTANBURG, SC (Wednesday, October 26, 2005) - Through its partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, Inc. (HCF), Denny's is proud to present 85 college students with a scholarship of up to $1,000 each.

Thirty five of the 2005 HCF scholars, including four of Denny's winners, will be honored this evening at HCF's 12th Annual Scholarship Awards Gala in Washington DC at JW Marriott, Pennsylvania Avenue. The event--of which Denny's is a sponsor--will also play host to many international ambassadors.

The HCF scholarship program provides a merit and financial need-based scholarship to Hispanic students. To be eligible students must be:

-- A US citizen of Hispanic/Latino heritage

-- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a major related to business, engineering, technology, entrepreneurship or that leads to a career in business

-- In good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA

-- Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student for a full academic year

Denny's partnership with HCF has helped nearly 328 Hispanic students realize their educational goals by providing more than $300,000 in scholarships over the past four years.

"We are proud to congratulate this year's Denny's Scholars," says Ray Hood, Denny's chief diversity officer. "Denny's has been providing educational scholarship opportunities to Hispanic students since 1996. By partnering with the Hispanic College Fund, we are assured that our scholarship contributions will continue to allow members of this fast-growing population to prosper and reach their goals."

For 2005, Hispanic Business magazine ranked Denny's 11th in its survey of the "Top 40 Companies for Hispanics" and HispanicBusiness.com ranked Denny's 7th on its list of "Top 10 Companies for Workforce Diversity."

The Hispanic College Fund, Inc. (HCF) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of Hispanic professionals in America. HCF accomplishes its mission by raising funds from individuals, corporations and other entities to award scholarships to students seeking a higher education in academic disciplines leading to careers in business, science, engineering and technology.
