Re-Launched midas.com Site More Informative for Consumers, Investors, Prospective Franchisees

ITASCA, IL (Thursday, March 31, 2005) - Midas, Inc. (NYSE:MDS) has completed a comprehensive re-launch of its www.midas.com website that features significantly improved graphics and navigation capabilities, as well as enhanced educational and background information on the company and its services for consumers, investors and prospective franchisees.

"Our new site has fresh graphics to support our 'Trust the Midas Touch' marketing platform and enhancements to the user experience that, ultimately, will drive retail sales through expanded customer education," said Rick Dow, Midas' senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

The midas.com site has three sections: consumer, corporate and franchising.

On the consumer site, there are simple explanations and illustrations of the various components of a vehicle and how they work, as well as suggestions for preventive maintenance and symptoms of potential wear or other problems. Consumers can locate and obtain driving directions to the most convenient Midas shop among the more than 1,800 in the United States and Canada. Users also can view Midas television commercials, learn about national promotions and download coupons for special offers.

The corporate section provides access to company press releases, financial reports, SEC filings and corporate governance, as well as Midas stock information including quotes (20-minute delay), historical share prices and stock fundamentals. Investors are able to request financial reports or other information directly from the site.

The franchising section contains details of the operations of the Midas retail system and outlines training, supply chain and other operational support available to franchisees. The site lists existing Midas shops that are available for re-franchising, as well as locations under consideration for new Midas shops. There also are answers to frequently asked questions about fees, financing and operational issues. Candidates may begin the franchisee application process by downloading forms from the site.

"The re-launched midas.com site is a significant improvement that provides a professional and informative experience for all users, whether they visit the site for consumer, financial or franchising information," Dow said.

VML of Kansas City, Mo., completed the development and overall redesign of the Midas site and is responsible for its hosting. Thomson Financial's Corporate Management Group, a provider of online investor relations and corporate communications solutions, is responsible for hosting the investor relations and corporate governance sections.
