Fantastic Sams Celebrates Successes & Plans for Future at Annual Convention

BEVERLY, MA (Monday, October 11, 2004) - Fantastic Sams®, the largest full-service hair care franchise with more than 1,350 salons, held its annual Fantastic Sams International Convention in New Orleans, LA, September 30-October 2, celebrating in true New Orleans style the successes of 2004 and planning for 2005.


New Styling Line, Keynote Speaker Dan Clark
and Fantastic Sams Rock Band Among Highlights

CEO and President Jack Keilt opened the Conference Session with a recap of the highlights of the year, including new regional support, new educational support and new corporate headquarters. Keilt announced that Fantastic Sams will undergo an extreme two year makeover to strengthen the brand, including improved standardization, updated salon design, and a new hair care line.

“Fantastic Sams is strong and growing again,” said Jack Keilt, President and CEO of Fantastic Sams. “We’ve accomplished a lot in the past year with a new corporate team and new systems. We have focused on improving every aspect of Fantastic Sams, and providing every customer with an outstanding experience at every salon.”


New Fantastic Sams High Performance Product Line

Vice President of Strategic Projects Anne Halvorsen unveiled a repackaged and reformulated Fantastic Sams styling line, scheduled to launch in summer 2005. The line includes a full range of products for cleansing, conditioning, repairing, styling and finishing. The products feature a more convenient retail size and advanced formulations to meet the needs of all hair types.


Keynote Speaker Dan Clark

Author, songwriter, speaker, leadership expert and former football player, Dan Clark overcame a devastating football injury to become a best selling author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and a highly regarded speaker and motivator.

“When your horse dies, dismount,” said Clark. “What we have been in the past does not make who we are today. What we hope to become in the future makes us who we are today. No matter what our past has been we have a spotless future. In this light, change is nothing more than constant improvement.”

Through comedy, psychology, intensity and inspiration, Clark revealed his proven formula for success — unveiling the power you hold within to see beyond adversity to recognize the opportunities that lie ahead.


Fantastic Sams Ponys Up for Locks of Love

Keilt also announced a new fundraising campaign for Locks of Love including a National Cut-A-Thon on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005, in all 1,350 Fantastic Sams salons. Fantastic Sams is also doing a nationwide Cartridge Recycling Program. Each Fantastic Sams salon will have Cartridge Recycling Boxes where customers can drop off their printer cartridges. The cartridges will be sent to, a nationally known and charitably focused recycling company Charitable Recycling Ink. For every cartridge that is sent, Charitable Recycling Ink will donate $1.50 to Locks of Love on behalf of Fantastic Sams. Fantastic Sams also is sponsoring a bracelet that will be sold in Fantastic Sams salons. The goal is to raise $250,000 by November 2005 to benefit Locks of Love.

Fantastic Sams Celebrates the Best of 2004

With a party worthy of Mardi Gras, Fantastic Sams celebrated a successful 2004 with a dinner, award ceremony and masquerade ball. The entertainment was provided by none other than the Fantastic Sams Band, starring Keilt on the drums, Vice President of Marketing Keith Galus on guitar and Director of Marketing Maria Weger on vocals.
