Celebrity Signed Bracelet Auction on eBay and April 23rd National Cut-A-Thon Highlight Charity Efforts for Locks of Love

BEVERLY, MA (Monday, April 18, 2005) - Fantastic Sams® Salons, the Beverly, Massachusetts-based hair care franchise, is up in arms for a good cause — to raise more than $250,000 for Locks of Love, a national non-profit organization that helps hundreds of financially disadvantaged children who suffer from long-term medical hair loss.


Nationwide Cut A Thon on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

More than 900 Fantastic Sams salons in the United States and Canada will host a National Cut A Thon on Saturday, April 23, 2005 (www.FantasticSams.com for locations). $1.00 of every hair cut will go to support Locks of Love. So come on in, get a new spring hair style and hot fashion accessory!


Celebrity Signed Bracelets to be Auctioned off on eBay

Charlize Theron has signed one. Melissa Etheridge and Brooke Shields did too. So has Kelly Ripa, Carmen Electra, Carson Daly and the rest of the MTV TRL crew. Boston sports celebrities Troy Brown, Matt Light and Ray Bourque have signed them too. What are all these celebrities and several others putting their famous signatures on?

It’s the “FANTASTIC FRIENDS” electric blue silicone bracelet. The newest wristband on the market to support a charitable cause, the “FANTASTIC FRIENDS” bracelet is projected to raise over $100,000 for Locks of Love, a national non-profit organization that makes custom-fitted hairpieces for thousands of financially disadvantaged children who suffer from cancer, alopecia and other types of medical hair loss.

The bracelets signed by celebrities will be auctioned off by Fantastic Sams, the country's largest full service salon, on eBay to raise money for Locks of Love. Bidding will begin on Saturday, April 23rd. Unsigned “FANTASTIC FRIENDS” bracelets are currently on sale at Fantastic Sams salons (www.FantasticSams.com for locations) across the country for $1.00 and 100% of the proceeds go to Locks of Love.


Nationwide Cartridge Recycling Program

Fantastic Sams is also doing a nationwide Cartridge Recycling Program. Each Fantastic Sams salon will have Cartridge Recycling Boxes where customers can drop off their printer cartridges. The cartridges will be sent to, a nationally known and charitably focused recycling company Charitable Recycling Ink. For every cartridge that is sent, Charitable Recycling Ink will donate $1.50 to Locks of Love on behalf of Fantastic Sams.
