NASHVILLE, TN (Saturday, July 01, 2000) - Founded in 1967 by Ted and Doris Isaacson, Servpro Industries, Inc. is now the nation’s leading disaster restoration and cleaning franchise system with over 1,300 franchisees in 49 states.

SERVPRO’s professional services network, which has relationships with major insurance companies, responds to property damage emergencies ranging from multi-million dollar disasters affecting entire communities to those suffered by individual businesses and homeowners.

The Isaacsons were experienced professionals in the delivery of disaster services prior to forming their one company. They entered their new venture committed to excellence and dedicated to the hard work required to develop a small business. Building upon those concepts, they began to franchise SERVPRO in 1969 and achieved continued growth throughout the next decade. This was highlighted by SERVPRO’s 1989 acquisition of the Bristol-Meyers Domesticare Division, a move that expanded its franchisee base and geographic service area.

Careful analysis of the need to respond quickly to franchisees located around the nation led to the relocation of the SERVPRO headquarters in 1988 to Gallatin, Tennessee, just north of the Nashville. Located within 600 miles of 50% of the U.S. population, SERVPRO’s modern headquarters is designed expressly to serve franchisees. It includes training facilities, state of the art demonstration models, corporate offices and warehousing for specially-designed SERVPRO products used by franchisees.

SERVPRO’s tradition of strong personal relationships with franchisees and family values is reflected in today’s management team. The Isaacsons' three children now lead the company and continue to emphasize on "helping entrepreneurs succeed."

Randall Isaacson joined SERVPRO in 1985 as an Area Manager and is now president of the company and a member of the board of directors. Richard Isaacson began that same year as SERVPRO’s Assistant Marketing Director. He is now executive vice president of the company and also serves as a director. Their sister, Susan Steen, a director of the company since 1990, became chief executive officer in 1995. A Certified Public Accountant, Steen was previously associated with Coopers & Lybrand, L.L. P. for 18 years. She served as a business assurance partner in Boise, Idaho. She began her career with SERVPRO by working in various division of the company during its formative years. In addition, Steen assisted her husband in the financial operation of a franchise in Boise, Idaho, for 5 years, continuing the SERVPRO family tradition of hands-on experience.

The SERVPRO Corporation team has grown steadily during the last five years and now includes over 100 employees at the Gallatin headquarters.
