GNC Honors Outstanding Members of the Military

General Nutrition Centers, Inc. (GNC) sponsored the fifth annual Military Times Service Member of the Year awards held at the Reserve Officer Association of the United States (ROA) in Washington, DC. The Honorable John McCain (U.S. Senator from Arizona) and Daniel K. Inouye (U.S. Senator from Hawaii) presented the awards to winners from each branch of the military that were honored as “everyday heroes”.

WASHINGTON DC (Tuesday, July 13, 2004) - General Nutrition Centers, Inc. (GNC) is proud to join the Military Times Media Group in sponsoring the fifth annual Military Times Service Member of the Year awards held today at the Reserve Officer Association of the United States (ROA) in Washington, DC. The Honorable John McCain (U.S. Senator from Arizona) and Daniel K. Inouye (U.S. Senator from Hawaii) presented the awards to winners from each branch of the military that were honored as “everyday heroes”. Winners were selected based on peer nominations.

“GNC is proud to be apart of this prestigious and meaningful event again this year,” said Joe Fortunato, GNC’s Chief Operating Officer. “These men and woman have been recognized by their peers based on their concern for fellow service members, professionalism and community service. They are truly everyday heroes that are helping to keep America strong.”

Air Force Times Airman of the Year: TSgt Paul Walker
Navy Times Sailor of the Year: HM3 Victor Urena
Marine Corps Times Marine of the Year: SGT Daniel B. Cotnoir
Navy Times Coast Guardsman of the Year: AMT3 Gregory A. Gibbons
Army Times Soldier of the Year: SGT Jessica A. Reed
