SPRING REAL ESTATE SEASON STARTS APRIL 2-3 WITH COLDWELL BANKER® NATIONAL OPEN HOUSE WEEKEND
Thousands of Coldwell Banker® Open Houses to be Held Across the Nation
PARSIPPANY, NJ (Thursday, March 31, 2005) -
Spring is here. Daylight is getting longer, flowers are blooming and baseball season is on deck. Traditionally, spring is also the time when home buying and selling swings into high gear. To "officially" kick off this busy real estate period, Coldwell Banker® offices around the nation will conduct thousands of open houses April 2-3 as part of the Coldwell Banker National Open House Weekend.
Open houses are a tried and true technique that creates "buzz" and draws prospective buyers to a home on the market. According to the 2004 National Association of Realtors Profile of Homebuyers and Sellers, more than half of all homebuyers used open houses as a resource during their home search.
"Because the economy is improving and mortgage interest rates remain at historically low levels, we expect a strong 2005 spring real estate season," said Jim Gillespie, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation. "Our National Open House Weekend marks the start of the spring home buying season, and we hope Coldwell Banker customers will utilize an open house to sell their home faster and at their desired price.''
All types of homes will be shown during Coldwell Banker National Open House Weekend, including existing homes, new construction and condominiums. Prospective homebuyers can visit www.coldwellbanker.com for a complete list of participating Coldwell Banker offices and open houses.
The Coldwell Banker National Open House Weekend will be supported by a national advertising campaign that includes full-page ads in USA Today. In addition, Coldwell Banker will air radio commercials around the country to promote the event. Since 1906, the Coldwell Banker® organization has been a premier provider of full-service real estate. In 2004, Franchise Times magazine's prestigious Top 200 issue ranked Coldwell Banker number one in real estate and number eight among all franchisors.
